The first version of Lithic Calendar, then a Java applet, was released in 1997, and was one of the most popular applets of the late 1990's. This was followed by a Flash version in the late 2000's and currently by the DHTML version that you see on this site. The objective in all cases was to create a calendar that was simple to customize, simple to use, and was light and stable. The current version is the most compact and most stable to date.

Lithic Calendar now permits integration with Facebook, with a Facebook app currently being developed. We will be sending out updates as new functions are available. We will be posting updates to our Twitter feed, which will have a low frequency (one per day or less) of tweets.

We will be using advertising to support the calendars in the near future, and will also have sponsored calendars which will permit organizations with a large fanbase to keep their fans updated with their events at all times.
