We recently launched new Rules Engine features as part of our Fraud Command suite that make it easier than ever to analyze, create, and tailor custom decisioning logic for your programs. Custom Code Rules lets you write TypeScript logic directly in the Lithic Rules Engine and as we covered in how we built it, the design work that went into making arbitrary code safe to run on a payments hot path also enabled us to embed a native AI rule-writing assistant. Now rather than coding the TypeScript yourself, you can describe the rule you want in plain language and the assistant generates it for you.

The magic of our Rules Engine is that it also extends across multiple payment rails (card, ACH) and stages of the transaction lifecycle, connecting data and context from pre-auth moments like 3DS authentication and digital wallet tokenization through to authorization itself and post-auth transaction monitoring. This widespread application means that it's never been more effortless to implement a robust end-to-end fraud and risk mitigation strategy.

Click through the demo below to get a sense of how intuitive it is to start building your custom logic. We promise no engineering sprints or code reviews were harmed in the making of this video.

Read the developer documentation here to learn more about the technical interface or jump directly into the Sandbox to begin experimenting.
